Break June 5, 2007, 13:07
So I've had a week off... And I'm bored stiff, lol.

I went to York on Saturday and that was pretty awesome. Bought an awesome gift for Lucy and a N64 for myself :D

The N64 came with 12 games, some of which are pretty good and I also bought myself Banjo Kazooie, which is an epic game.

Haven't found anywhere to do my project yet, which sucks. Though... My grandma said that she'd clear out her garage (which contains a really, really old car) and that she'd let me do it at hers, so I'm considering this. It's just a little awkward (and expensive) to get to her house from here every day.

Work tonight :( suckage.

Exams Are Over! May 29, 2007, 21:09
Woo, finished my exams! Now I just have to do any resits that might occur :<

Anyways, 4 months of freedom can't be bad.

Time to catch up on some projects!

2 Down, 1 To Go May 17, 2007, 20:24
I had my Programming 2 exam today, the first question was easy, second question was ok (but very long winded - I had to hand write a huge amount of code) and the third question was quite tough...

Hopefully I did well enough to pass.

Just the Quantitative Methods exam to go now a week on monday :(

Free Money? Oh Yeah! May 16, 2007, 13:30
I just received quite a nice payment, through PayPal, from Pay Per Post, for a post I made a little while ago (the casino one).

Pay Per Post definitely seems to be a great way to make easy money and I would recommend it to anyone who has a blog :)

Exams May 10, 2007, 18:13
Finally got all my projects done and handed in, but now I have very little time left to revise.

My first exam (Human Computer Interfaces) is on Monday and the next (Programming 2) is on the following Thursday. I then have 10 days to revise for the last exam (Quantitatve Methods).

Fun fun :(

RSS May 4, 2007, 20:09
Hmm, well, apparently my RSS was a little screwy. I've fixed all the apparent bugs in it now, and it should work fine.

You can find the RSS here if you haven't already found it.

Oblivion May 2, 2007, 21:11
I haven't posted in a little while, so I figured I would post my excuse...

This past week or so my life has been split between Uni work and Oblivion.

The Uni work is in the form of some group projects that I had to take part in and also some coursework that needs to be completed.

So I bought a PS3 the other week, right? Well the day it arrived I bought a HDTV because my old TV just wasn't cutting it. Then, the same week that everything arrived, I bought Oblivion (which I've been wanting to play for ages, just didn't want to spend the cash buying a new computer to play it) and I am absolutely hooked on it. Oblivion is awesome and it's sucking up my free time like hell. The problem is, I need to start revising soon and with the lure of Oblivion I'm gonna have trouble :(

Oh well, Oblivion may be awesome but I need to pass this year to get onto the Game Development segment of my degree, so the revision will get done.

PS3 April 16, 2007, 19:31
So... Yeah... I bought a PS3 last night on eBay...

I was determined to wait till later in the year to buy one. Determined to wait until at least the 2nd generation of PS3s are released (as all 1st gen. Sony games system break)... But I was browsing eBay and saw an auction which was quite a bit lower than retail price in stores and, seeing as I've read that the Sony PR people have officially declared that the PS3 won't officially go down in retail price for a year, I decided to seriously consider it.

Then, too, considering how poorly their selling in stores, I figured it might be a while before the 2nd gen. gets released which led me to make a bid in the last minute.

I won the auction, woo! So I should be getting the console some time this week.

I really hope I can get used to the disgustingly light weight controls :( heh.

Online Casino April 15, 2007, 21:27
Well, I'm not much of a gambler. But I do love some casino games (especially when it's not involving me losing vast sums of cash, heh).

I was browsing about looking for advertisements that appealed to me and I noticed this one asking for a review of an online casino called The Gaming Club.

You can find the casino here at: Gaming Club

The Gaming Club looks to me like a very comprehensive casino game site, with over 170 different games to choose from, which definitely catches my eye.

The games interface itself also caught my eye as it seems both very intuitive but also very attractive to the look at while you play your games.

The prospect of gambling online may appeal more to other people than it does to me, but I can certainly see why it makes sites such as Gaming Club so popular. The ease of winning (or losing, I guess) sums of money while playing games that you enjoy against other real people without having to leave the comfort of your own home is an opportunity that is hard to pass up.

Another great bonus to the Gaming Club casino is the incentives they offer as bonuses for game payments that you can easily register for and collect as currency at a later date or use as the in game currency to place...

Dofus April 13, 2007, 10:47
Recently I started playing an game called Dofus.

Dofus is an MMORPG that has very cartoony styled art, scenery and animation. The game is played from a top down view on a sort of isometric grid.

The main game has you walking around, interacting with NPCs and other players, finding and completing various quests and whatnot.

The battle side of the game is more of a tactical turn based game, which is also quite fun. Team work is really essential when you're fighting large groups of higher level enemies.

Recently they opened a UK specific server named Shika, which is what inspired me to play. After a few ours playing I came to realise that playing in a browser sucks wang, but they don't offer an application to run it separate from the browser. The lack of Mac friendliness (sod Linux, they wanna do everything the hard way anyway :P) led me to throw together an application in XCode that allows me to play Dofus in it's own window complete with dock icon. So far it's working nicely.

Whoa... April 7, 2007, 18:07
Been such a long time since I posted, heh.

Guess I never really have anything worth talking about to post, lol.

Currently having my Easter break. Got a week left before I go back to uni :( Next week I need to get on with a load of Math coursework and a group project we were assigned. Already got a design that I think I'll use (here) so I guess half my work is done for the group project already :)

Anyways, I will try and post again soon... But no guarantees :P

What I Get Up to At Work... March 19, 2007, 20:36
Well, I haven't posted in a while so I thought I'd let all my readers (haha yeah right) know what I get up to at work.

If you don't know; I work in a small "members club" in the village that I live in. When I say small, I'm probably not doing it justice... On a busy shift I'll get maybe 20 people in, but normally I'll get about 6 people during the whole four hours... If I'm lucky.

Anyways, I've got a few of pics and a video, so here they are: Dominoes Dominoes Dominoes3

And the awesome thing?

I get paid to do this :D

News! Sort of... March 2, 2007, 18:54
I've been talking to a friend recently and I showed him one of the projects I had started but never finished.

He was really impressed and encouraged me to continue it and has also found people willing to back the project.

He's a pretty awesome interface designer and does some sweet flash work, so together we might be able to pull off something pretty amazing.

Anyway, I'm not gonna give too much away for now.

I'll post more info at a later date.

VNC'd February 20, 2007, 13:29
I haven't posted in a little while so I thought I'd make a post. I'm currently at Uni, joy... So I've had to VNC onto my Mac to be able to make this post, seeing as my laptop is the only place I can post to my blog from :D heh.

There's a couple more things on the right since I last posted about the site, and I've also made a Last.fm parser, but I dcan't think of anywhere to actually put it on my site D: oh well.

I Finally Gave In... February 10, 2007, 01:01
...and registered to YouTube to upload a video.

This video is from a couple of weeks ago after a party I went to with a friend called Joe. We had a bit to drink and were walking back to his house in the early hours of the morning.

We kinda thought it would be a good idea to 'chav' up a post box... (Sorry it's so dark, too lazy to fix the video)

Kingdom Hearts February 2, 2007, 11:17
I started playing Kingdom Hearts (the first one) for the first time yesterday. I've never played it before, only heard a couple of people talking about how good it is. Anyway, I formatted my brand new memory card, put the game in and sat down to play it.

I played it for 8 hours straight, oh dear.

It's an absolutely awesome game, even though Cloud handed my arse to me in the coliseum.

When I finish this one I'm planning on getting Kingdom Hearts II, whee.

I've Been Victimised January 25, 2007, 15:29
When I first started Uni during the freshers week there was a bazarre thing set up next to the student union. In the bazarre were lots of different tables for various companies trying to hawk their wares at new Uni students through the lure of bags full of freebies.

There was all sorts there, insurance companies, mobile companies, even the police had a stall with loads of information on how to keep your stuff safe at uni and whatnot.

At the back of the tent there was a stall for a new web-based company called 'booksofcourse.com'. They were giving out free books to anyone that signed up and I already had a sack full of freebies, so one more wasn't going to hurt.

In December I went on the site to buy some books for the exams that I had earlier this month, I only ended up buying one book - a C# programming book aimed for students - because most of them were pretty expensive.

Anyway, come the exam time my book had still not arrived from them, so I sent them an email asking for any information about it but I didn't get a reply.

Today I got a letter through the post from 'Begbies Traynor' who are apparently a 'corporate rescue & recovery' company. The letter was basically telling me that booksofcourse are going the way of the dinosaur and are going to be liquidating their assets and whatnot.

Organising Made Easy January 25, 2007, 11:02
I've recently been made aware of some Scheduling Software that looks like it could be very useful for people who manage meetings, lessons, lectures, etc.

NetSimplicity offer a scheduling package that allows the user to specify when and where a room is going to be in use and who by with what seems to be a very easy to use web interface.

I can't say that I would use the software myself, but it would have been very useful for my college when I went. The amount of times we got kicked out of classrooms and moved around the fairly large grounds in search of an empty classroom was ridiculous.

Anyway, if you do a lot of organising, or just want to give the software a look, they offer a 30 day trial package to do with as you please.

Archive January 23, 2007, 15:30
I submitted my blog to a advertisement company recently and after a few days I got an email telling me I'd been rejected. Apparently I'd overlooked adding an archive feature to my blog - whoops.

Anyway, I've added it now and resubmitted my application, huzzah!

Archive link is on the right.
